with DTK Wines & Student2Star

23 February 2024 marked the opening night of DTK Wines’ first collaborative art exhibition, as well as their first Student2Star exhibition.

Over the past couple of months, three of our local artists - Mainka, Mieke Droomer and Madeleine du Toit - worked together with the 2Blossom Foundation and DTK Wines to kickstart the brand new Student2Star project.

The Student2Star project is supported and funded by the 2Blossom Foundation (founded by Intense Wines). The aim of the Student2Star project was to identify children from our farming communities who show artistic potential, and then have professional artists mentor and guide them in their art journey. Five primary school learners from Lorraine NGK Primary were selected to be part of this project. With the help of the artists, they were able to complete multiple artworks, which were all exhibited at the opening night of DTK Wines’ Art Collab Exhibition.

The aim of this exhibition was to shine a light on the wonderful work that the 2Blossom Foundation is doing for our community, and to also showcase the amazing work of our talented artists who offered their time and expertise to the children. The opening night was a big success, as multiple pieces of the students’ art were sold. All proceeds from the Student2Star sales goes directly back into the 2Blossom Foundation programme.

DTK Wines’ opening nights are always big success as guests not only appreciate the art, but also connect over quality, local wine and the talent we have in our valley.

The children’s Student2Star art will be exhibited until end of March at DTK Wines’ tasting room in Rawsonville.
